Spinosaurus or spinosaurus aegyptiacus, pronounced spi·no·saw·ruhs was a large, therepodial, carnivorous dinosaur that lived in the mid Cretaceous Period, about 115 million years ago. The spinosaurus has been found in Egypt. The name spinosaurus means spined reptile.
The tarbosaurus weighed around 5 tons, was around 59 ft long, and around 18 ft tall. The is baryonyx considered to be a close relative to the spinosaurus. Despite its popularity anly 6 spinosaurus specimins have been found.
The spinosaurus mostly feeds on fish. The spinosaurus had 76 teeth and the teeth were about 5 in. long. It had a weak jaw, so is was harder for it to kill larger prey.
Its spine may have been used to attract mates or scare off challengers. The spinosaurus is guessed to be warm blooded. The tarbosaurus has a top speed of 13 mph. The spinosaurus is said to not have feathers unlike other dinosaurs.
