Iguanodon or Iguanodon bernissartensis pronounced i-gwan-na-don was a medium sized, quadrupedal, herbivorous dinosaur that lived in the late Jurassic Period, about 150 million years ago. The iguanodon has been found in parts of the United States, England, and Germany. The name iguanodon means iguana tooth.

The iguanodon is famous for its defence mechanisms, a large thumb spike, and its misconstruction .

The iguanodon weighed around 3.5 tons, around 33 ft long, and around 9 ft tall. It was in the middle of the size spectrum for its time period. Some dinosaurs that are related to the iguanodon are the hadrosaurus. Overall 38 iguanodon skeletons have been found.

The iguanodon mostly feeds on ginkgo. The iguanodon teeth are perfectly made to eat plants

Its classification is in the iguanodontia genus. The iguanodon is guessed to be cold blooded. The iguanodon has a top speed of 15 mph. The iguanodon is said to not have feathers unlike other dinosaurs.
