Allosaurus pronounced a·luh·saw·ruhs was a large, therepodial, carnivorous dinosaur that lived in the late Jurassic Period, about 150 million years ago. The Allosaurus has been found in parts of the United States, Portugal, Tanzania, and Australia. The name Allosaurus means different lizard lizard.
The Allosaurus weighed around 2.5, around 28 ft long, and around 13 ft tall. It was one of the largest carnivorous dinosaurs of its time period. A dinosaur that is related to the Allosaurus is the antrodemus. At least 60 Allosaurus skeletons have been found.
The Allosaurus mostly feed on ornithopods, sauropods, and stegosaurs.. The Allosaurus teeth were large and usually compared to steak knives. Their teeth were about 1.5 in. long. Allosaurus are presumed to hunt in packs .
Allosaurus crest like horns were most likely used to attract mates. The Allosaurus is guessed to be warm blooded. The dilophosaurus has a top speed of 34 mph. The dilophosaurus is said to not have feathers unlike other dinosaurs.
