Triceratops or Triceratops horridus pronounced trai·seh·ruh·taaps was a large, quadrupedal, herbivorous dinosaur that lived in the late Cretaceous Period, about 66 million years ago. The stegosaurus has been found in parts of the United States and Canada. The name triceratops means three horned face. The triceratops is famous for its defence mechanism, three horns on its face.

The triceratops weighed around 6 tons, around 29 ft long, and around 10 ft tall. It was in the middle of the size spectrum for its time period. Some dinosaurs that are related to the triceratops are the Centrosaurus, and Styracosaurus. Over 500 triceratops skeletons have been found.

The triceratops mostly feeds on plants and mosses. The triceratops teeth are perfectly made to eat plants

It is in the ceratopsian family. The triceratops is guessed to be cold blooded. Triceratops has a top speed of 10 mph. It is said to not have feathers unlike other dinosaurs.
